Healthier Hip Joints

a Feldenkrais/Awareness Through Movement-based workshop

Saturday, May 30th

10:00am - 12:30pm

Your hips make almost everything possible — walking, sitting, dancing, a downward dog, a long run. When they're tight or restricted, you feel it everywhere.

In this workshop, we'll explore movement sequences designed to unlock your hips' healthy range of motion, ease tension in the deep hip muscles, and help you find the difference between hip and lower back movement — a distinction that changes how your whole body feels and functions.

Come curious. Leave more free.

The Feldenkrais Method®

The Feldenkrais Method® works by doing less, not more — slow, attentive movement that teaches your nervous system new possibilities. Each workshop targets a specific area of the body or movement challenge, helping you release discomfort, move with greater ease, and expand what feels possible in your body.

No experience needed. Just a willingness to slow down and pay attention.

Core Contact

Saturday, June 27th

10:00am - 12:30pm

Photo Description: Two dancers doing contact improvisation. One dancer is slightly bend over with one arm extended to the side, while the second dancer is in a handstand leaning against the first dancer. They both have orange pants, white shirts, and a netting over their shirts.

This workshop explores the core practices of (c.)ontact (i.)mprovisation—a dynamic duet dance form where physical connection sparks unexpected movement possibilities. All levels of c.i. experience are invited to work with foundational techniques, including points of contact, weight transfer, and athletic awareness - then move beyond mechanics to explore artistic choice, intention, and spontaneous composition.

This workshop will not repeat the same exercises as the previous workshops, and will welcome everyone who wants to explore c.i.

(c.)ontact (i.)mprovisation transforms physical touch into engaged, daring, visceral dance. By tuning into your partner's movements, you'll expand your physical range, sharpen partnering skills, and access new movement qualities. Each participant pushes beyond their current comfort zone into thrilling, uncharted territory.

Founded by Steve Paxton in the early 1970s, (c.)ontact (i.)mprovisation now thrives globally—in professional studios, universities, and community spaces. This workshop welcomes everyone ready to discover what becomes possible when two bodies meet in motion.

Spontaneous Self Performance Lab

Saturday, July 25th

9:00am - 7:30pm

Join experienced improvisers for a day-long creative laboratory. Together, we'll develop improvisational scores for solo, duet, and group work — building the raw material for an informal performance.

Throughout the day, we'll warm up the body, explore contact improvisation, and employ improvisational skills that bridge composition and performance. You'll discover different approaches to collaboration, learn how to make authentic choices in performance, and develop tools for creating structure that supports spontaneity.

By day's end, we'll present what we've made to friends, family, and invited guests — an unpolished, genuine glimpse into the creative process.

This workshop is designed for dancers and improvisers ready to deepen their practice and create something meaningful in community.

Specific schedule will be shared once registered.
